1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing carolmedrado.com or engaging Carol Medrado Design Studio for services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or services. These terms apply to all visitors, clients, and others who access our website or engage our design services.
2. Services
Carol Medrado Design Studio provides luxury interior design, landscape design, real estate staging, and related creative consulting services. Specific services, deliverables, timelines, and fees are governed by a separate written Design Agreement signed prior to project commencement. In the event of conflict between these Terms and a signed Design Agreement, the Design Agreement controls.
All services are subject to availability. Carol Medrado accepts a limited number of full-service projects per year to ensure each client receives dedicated attention.
3. Discovery Session
The $450 Discovery Session fee is due at booking and is non-refundable if cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice. The full Discovery Session fee is credited toward any subsequent design project booked within 90 days. The Discovery Session does not constitute a binding engagement for full design services.
4. Fees, Payments & Procurement
- —Design Fees: Flat design fees are outlined in your Design Agreement. Fees are invoiced in installments as defined per project.
- —Procurement Markup: A transparent 20–25% markup applies to all furniture, materials, and furnishings sourced on your behalf. This markup is disclosed in writing before any order is placed. You are never obligated to purchase through our studio.
- —Payment Terms: Invoices are due within 14 days of issue unless otherwise specified. Late payments may result in project pause.
- —Refunds: Design fees paid for completed work are non-refundable. Procurement deposits are refundable only if orders have not been placed.
5. Intellectual Property
All design concepts, mood boards, drawings, specifications, and creative work produced by Carol Medrado Design Studio remain the intellectual property of the studio until payment is received in full. Upon full payment, the client receives a non-exclusive license to use the delivered design for their personal residential or commercial space.
Carol Medrado Design Studio reserves the right to photograph and document completed projects for portfolio, press, and marketing purposes, with reasonable notice and regard for client privacy.
6. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
- —Provide timely access to the project space and respond to design decisions within agreed timelines
- —Share accurate information about the space, existing items to be retained, and budget parameters
- —Obtain necessary permits or HOA approvals where required
- —Make payments on schedule to avoid project delays
7. Website Use
By using carolmedrado.com, you agree not to:
- —Use the site for any unlawful purpose
- —Copy, reproduce, or distribute any content without written permission
- —Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the site
- —Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form
8. Limitation of Liability
Carol Medrado Design Studio's liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid by the client for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. We do not warrant that contractor work, vendor products, or third-party installations will be free from defect.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Wake County, North Carolina.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes are effective upon posting to this page. Continued use of our website or services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
